What is a title, really? (...a must read!)

Our fall trial season is over and Mookie is ending up exactly where we want to be! 

Early October, we finished up his UKC Nosework MASTER title and continued working on the remaining (6 legs now needed) for his SUPERIOR GRAND CHAMPION. 

In AKC Scent Work, after two trials in September, we finished the AKC Scent Work EXCELLENT level and ADVANCED ELITE titles.

I have learned to count to five every time he alerts because his nose freeze on source could initially be a really good sniff on a Cheeto which given a few seconds, he will walk away from! I've also learned that we need lots of practice in areas where other dogs have pottied! Other than these things, he has an excellent pass rate in both UKC and AKC.  I credit to our SLOW progress up the ladder one level/year to give him confidence and accuracy and by incorporating all the UKC Champion and Grand Champion legs and the AKC Elite legs! 

Also, he accumulated enough points to earn the FCAT2 title (again one level/year) and finally passed the last open leg for a Barn Hunt OPEN title!!  
 

Now we have pivoted to lots of training and maybe doing some virtual titles! Training is a journey that we both love and learn from!
